Thank you for visiting the New Jersey Chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (NJ SAMPE). Chartered in 1977, the same year as the launch of Voyager 1 (!), NJ SAMPE is one of the oldest Chapters in the SAMPE network. We serve the greater NJ/NY/CT/PA area by focusing on our membership, as well as student and young professional outreach. Currently at 50 active members, including eight SAMPE Fellow and ten Senior Honorary Members. NJ SAMPE was designated as SAMPE's first Center of Excellence for Additive Manufacturing (AM) in 2018. A member of our Board was recognized as a recipient of the SAMPE Young Professionals Emerging Leadership Award in 2020.
NJ SAMPE meets on the first Thursday of each month at various local venues, including dinner and a featured local speaker. We focus on the current state of commercial AM applications, showcase trends toward advancing its adoption and highlight academic achievements. We also cover topics of wider interest including professional development and STEM support.
You are encouraged to participate and network, either for business opportunities, recruitment or keeping up with industry trends in the region. As the only technical society encompassing all fields of endeavor in materials and processes, SAMPE provides a valuable forum for scientists, engineers and academics. SAMPE’s strength can be found in its vital core of local Chapters, each with its own unique heritage and program offerings.
